Win a $25 Gift card for your Childs Favorite Teacher

I have always loved school and I always think fondly of my teachers throughout my school years.  Not only have they played a big role in teaching me what I needed to know to get me to where I am today educationally but have helped guide me on the right path and were great role models.  My Kindergarten, PE, Art and Biology teachers are a few that I would love to see again and thank.

As a working Mum, my children have been with teachers from an early age.  We've been fortunate that the kids have such great teachers every year.  Every Christmas I send my children to school with a gift bag filled with a pamper spa kit which consists of toiletries from my freebie shopping and a small gift card.  The teachers love it as they get to try out new products and I get to unload my stockpile ; ).

Mudpies and Butterflies wants to encourage parents to take the time to thank a teacher in their child's life. They've even released a video dedicated to showcasing how important teachers really are.
Check out the video here - its an awesome compilation.

Mudpies and Butterflies is a private and secure social network for school communities to allows parents and administrators to connect, communicate and access shared resources. They make it easy for any school to build and maintain a web presence while encouraging parent interaction and supporting fundraising efforts. It was created by educators who see electronic communication as a powerful tool for building an active, local parent network.

Unfortunately, many teachers do not get the resources to help them to be their best and so next time you are checking your freebie stockpile pack a few up in a giftbag and thank your children's teacher or maybe pack a few freebie school items up for the class.  Even a quick thank you note or how are you doing in the morning goes a long way.

Thanks to Mudpies and Butterflies, one Freebie Junkie Reader will win a $25 Visa Gift Card to show appreciation to their child's favorite teacher.

  15. My daughters 3rd grade teacher (last year), Mrs. Morris knew that she was really struggling in math. I was not doing a good job with helping her and I let her teacher know. The next day she sent home a letter with all of the students saying that she would be staying after school 1 day a week for 1 hour to help her students in all subjects. The first week 3 kids stayed after. Then no one. My daughter was the only student to stay after for the next 5 weeks with Mrs. Morris doing math. She not only really helped my daughter she helped me. She excels in math now. :)

  30. For my kids I would have to say my mom. While not a "traditional" teacher her way of being rigt at their level and taking all the time they need to learn about what ever it is they are dicussing has helped both my kids see their world from new viewpoints.

  36. My 6 year old son, Joshua, although very bright has a lot of social anxiety. He was nervous about starting a new school this year so the day before school started I emailed his teacher letting her know about how nervous he was and asking if she might find time to talk to me about him in the next week. She made time THAT DAY, amid the hustle of getting the classroom ready for her 30 new first graders. The moment she met him she shook his hand, told him that she was there for him anytime he needed to talk and then put her arm around him as she took him on a private tour of the classroom. When we entered the school that afternoon Josh said he didn't want to go to school but after meeting her he was all smiles and bounced into school the first day. A total turn around. She emails me almost daily letting me know about his day. After a month she has worked with him to where he will walk into school by himself, communicate with her how he's feeling and has made friends for the first time. She is a dream.
