Out with the Old, In with the New: Microwave PastaBoat Review & Giveaway

I am always looking for new products for the kitchen to help me be a better and efficient cook.  I love cooking, but with a full time job inside and outside of the home plus blogging time, it doesn't leave much time for eating let alone cooking.  During the work week I limit my cooking time to 30 minutes max to ensure I leave enough time to spend time with the kids and get everyone ready for the next day.  During the holidays when we're cooking for friends and family I wish for an extra 2 burners so all my dishes can come off the stove at the same time.  The PastaBoat fits all my cooking needs and then some.

The microwave PastaBoat is a five-in-one meal-maker that cooks, strains, serves, steams, and stores. Just add pasta and water into the Pasta Boat, place it in the microwave, pop on the straining lid after it cooks, and within 18 minutes the meal is ready to serve and eat.

As part of my Spring Fling giveaway event which is being held next month (March 13th-19th), PastaBoat has kindly sent me one for review and offered one for a giveaway to fit the "Out with the Old, In with the New" theme prize package.
I first tried the PastaBoat to make a pasta salad. I found that its best to use hot tap water to reduce cooking time, every microwave oven is different so the actual cook time will vary and you'll have to experiment the first few times before getting a system down. I loved how I didn't need to pull out my colander as there is an inbuilt straining lid, plus I could just add my salad ingredients to the PastaBoat and mix then serve.  The blind test with the family was a success as there were no complaints or differences noticed with the pasta cooked with the PastaBoat. Anytime I can get away with less clean up is good for me. The PastaBoat is perfect for steaming vegetables and fish in the microwave too.

I love that its an all in one device. I wouldn't have to dirty up a big pot AND a strainer, and it would make things faster. I'd probably made all kinds of pasta dishes with this!

I'd probably use it to steam veggies primarily, but I'd end up trying it out for pasta as well.

The subsequent time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I imply, I do know it was my choice to learn, however I actually thought youd have something attention-grabbing to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could repair in the event you werent too busy in search of attention.
