Since Blogmania is just round the corner (September 15-16th to be precise) I will be focusing on the biggest freebie giveaway event itself as who wouldn't like to score $700+ worth of freebies from The Freebie Junkie's sponsors?  Or how about $40,000+ from 175 other bloggers.  Tommorow is the last day to enter the early entry giveaways so click here and scroll to the bottom to enter them all - the more you enter the higher the chance of winning - I recently won 2 prizes from other bloggers and know first hand it is feasible to win.

I'll be BACK as the Terminator likes to say.

No really, I'll be on periodically throughout the week as much as my family will allow ; )  and I'll also be notifying the randomly picked winners of Blogmania 2010 too ; )

911 Remembrance

Today is 9/11

9 years ago today, terrorists changed the lives of everyone around the world especially the American people

Lets remember all those who lost their lives on 9/11 and also to those who died post 9/11

Where were you on 9/11?

I was visiting my boyfriend (now husband) in St Louis and I was home alone watching the news with my cup of tea and saw footage of the first plane hit the tower.  I thought it was just a tragic accident, but then shortly after, the news channel showed the second plane penetrate the second tower, then did I realise this was not an accident but an act of sheer and barbaric terrorism.  I spent the next few days like every person in the US glued to the TV in disbelief.

Lets use this day productively to honor the fallen

For those who:

- missed out on the free dryel deal posted here

Review: Wholesale Costume Club

My daughter loves anything Princess, even the bedtime stories have to be Princess related.  For the last two years she has dressed up as Snow White for Halloween, if I say so myself I think she makes a fine Snow White, but this year I was determined to get her to be something other than Snow White.

I had my hopes on my daughter being Jasmine this year but she looked me in the eyes and said "Mommy I don't want my belly button showing", I'll kindly remind her of this when she is a teenager ; ) so we compromised and settled on Belle.  So I automatically searched online at the Disney Store.  The choices were not great, the Limited Edition Belle was $149.50 (yes are you thinking what I'm thinking - you must be crazy?) and the other Belle dress ($39.50) just didn't jump out as Belle for my little Belle.
Photobucket Photobucket

My eyes popped when I saw the great online prices at Wholesale Costume Club.  After I searched for girls dresses I couldn't believe the large number of choices available and how awesome the selection was. This Disney Belle dress below is only $18.98 and if you are a member it comes down to $11.96 ($5 annual membership fee).  This dress certainly beats the two dresses from the online Disney Store hands down.
We decided to upgrade to the deluxe Disney Belle dress below ($37.98 for non members and $32.96 for members) since it screamed Belle to me and it came with the cute headband.  This dress is so well made, I'm sure next halloween I'll have a hard time convincing her to switch to Jasmine.  Right now my little one is admiring her beautiful dress and has the biggest grin you've ever seen.

If you are looking for authentic costumes at wholesale prices without having to buy in bulk Wholesale Costume Club is for you.  I think we'll be looking into adding the $5 membership as my son loves to dress up too.  During playdates we often see little Princesses having tea with Superheroes.

Disclaimer: I did not receive any monetary compensation for this review and this is written based on my own honest opinion (other people opinions may vary).  Wholesale Costume Club provided me the product to be reviewed but it does not affect my review and opinion on the products discussed herein.

Our fun day at Peddlars Village - nearly free

Today I took the day off as the kids school were observing Rosh Hashanah.  I was contemplating breaking down and taking them to Chuckie Cheese as we had some coins left over from a birthday party and "Chuckie Cheese is only for birthday parties" was not cutting it with my 5 year old anymore.  However, yesterday I posted an article "Giving Back Local" which was all about my fun time at the Bucks Happening's Happy Hour hosted kindly by Sweet Lorraines in Peddlers Village.  Well this inspired me to take them to Peddlers Village instead, not only will the kids have a great time with all the fun activities at GiggleBerry Fair but we get to check out the scarecrow displays and I get to do some retail therapy.

I used a BOGO coupon towards the activity pass at Giggleberry Fair, which I received as a runner up from a fellow blogger Giggleberry Fair giveaway.  Yes I had an ulterior motive - freebie coupon ; ). The kids had a blast at Giggleberry Mountain, Giggles Discover and the Grand Carousel.

While I was checking out Peddler's Village website directory last night, I went on a few of the stores facebook page to see if there were any deals and found that Town Crier Bakery were offering a free sticky Bun today. So off we went to get our sticky bun - it was delicious.  I discovered, the day before they were offering a free Danish of choice - fruity or cheese and Tuesday it was a free cupcake.  You never know before you go shop do some investigational work on facebook.

Town Crier's Display - Cupcrowcake

Well the only retail therapy that I did was for the kids - we picked up some great clothes at rock bottom price at the Peddlers Village Childrens Place outlet store using this printable 15% off coupon.  Never leave home without a coupon ; )

Giving Back Local

When we moved to Pennyslvania 5 years ago to be closer to family, we chose to live in Bucks County which is north east of Philadelphia because of the quaint towns, natural beauty of the rural areas and great schools for our kids.  Bucks County, boasts so many wonderful downtowns like Doylestown, New Hope and Newtown that always reminds me of home, I grew up in East London, England and so anything that reminds me of my upbringing is a good thing.  What makes home for me is the community - I like to give back to my community through food drives, frequenting local businesses and local events.

Bucks Happening is a local website dedicated to everything thats happening in Bucks County, PA.  I happen to be a happening chick and Angela and Tina from Bucks Happening post my monthly Top 10 freebies for their readers.  Tonight, Bucks Happening hosted a wonderful happy hour for local businesses at Sweet Lorraines in Peddler's Village

We were served an awesome array of appetizers ranging from steakhouse sliders, roasted bell pepper & garlic hummus, and avocado crabcakes and best of all pumpkin spice martinis and free music - you know I was in my element with the free food, drinks and music.  There were also raffles from local Bucks County businesses in which I donated two gift baskets filled with wonderful toiletries from my freebie sprees.

While savoring my free eats, I met a local called Andrew from Wash Tyme who makes chemical free handmade soap from recycled and filtered vegetable oil.   I must gravitate to those who also like to reduce their carbon foot print.  We somehow got into talking about our organic vegetable gardens and then onto Andrew's free range chickens which he keeps in his garden, mmmm I wonder if my neighbors will object to little chicks ; ).

I also met Joanna from Nutrition in Motion who specializes as a sports nutrition coach and fitness coach - we discussed green smoothies, which gives me an idea on what to do with my spinach from my garden.

Next time you check out your local business get to know the person behind the counter and you'll find they are not just a face and you might have some great common interests.

If you have never been to Peddlers Village in Lahaska, PA (near New Hope), you are in for a treat, there are so many things to do there, from Giggleberry Fair for those with kids to quaint boutique shops and wonderful places to eat.  Tommorow is a school holiday for the kids so we're off to Peddlar's Village to see the scarecrow display, Giggleberry Fair and some shopping time both in the quaint boutiques and the shopping outlet.

Coupon Preview 9/12 - 4 inserts  and Whole Coupon Inserts indicates there will be 4 whopping inserts in this weekend's paper: 2 Smart Source, 1 General Mills and 1 Red Plum.

Don't forget to check here when you go grocery shopping as this site has a coupon database so you can go down your shopping list and search easily for coupons.

My friend Amanda wanted to let you know about where you can sign up to get your Sunday paper delivered for as low as $1 each week!  This is an awesome saving considering the newspaper retails for $1.75+ and plus you don't need to drag yourself out to go get it.

Check below for full insert details

Blogmania: Jari Love DVD Review & Giveaway - early entries

Welcome to my Blogmania Sponsor feature for Jari Love - Workout DVD's

With two little ones and our busy work schedules I cannot join a gym as I have so much to do before and after work.  Once I put the kids down to bed then I can start my workouts, so working out at home is my best option as I do not need to waste time driving somewhere and I can do it all in the comfort of my own home.

While searching for workout motivation online I came across Jari Love and was intrigued by her workout DVD's.  Sometimes working out alone doesn't cut it as you skimp back on the pushups or you stop after 15 minutes and bolt for the fridge.  Well looking at Ms Jari Love here you'll be motivated to keep at the whole hour of workout.  While we all aspire to look so trim and buff, many will never achieve this in our wildest dreams, however, we can at least try to keep fit and healthy for our family.  I find variety is the spice of life.  I like to mix my workouts up, the elliptical one night, boot camp another, a break and then DVD another.  This way you work all your muscles and you don't get bored or stuck in a rut.

Jari Love is a certified personal trainer and the creator of Get RIPPED!™, the multiphase, no-nonsense fully body workout system designed to help people of any fitness level shed unwanted pounds in just weeks.  While I was not able to provide a personal review of the DVD's before the Blogmania event due to the Canadian mail system ; ) Jari and her workouts have received rave reviews and the accolades from fitness critics continue to pile.  Check out Jari's fitness DVD's here and motivate yourself to shed some unwanted pounds.  For Canadian residents Jari has her own Boot Camps - check them out here.

Jari Love is a sponsor for The Fitness Prize Pack for my Blogmania event where one lucky winner will receive the Body Rock and Get Ripped 1000 DVD's.
