Review: Identify your Stuff with Zippies

My son is in Kindergarten and he carries in a backpack everyday, it is so cute how he loaded his backpack up with keychains.  I remember doing this as a child too.  My son is starting to show some individualism and I welcome that!

We received the new Zippies for review and these were perfect to add to my son's growing keychain collection.  Not only are they fun tags but they serve as a child I.D. security too as you can print your child's name on each zippie.  I like how you can use these to tag your water bottle.  We drink a lot of water and now I can tag each half drunken bottle easily with the Zippies and therefore no more germ sharing and waste as we can easily identify the owner and reuse the bottle.

There are ten Zippies to collect in Series 1 - my son likes Chip and my daughter likes Kayla.  I like them a lot and will be borrowing stealing one to use on my key chain.

BUY IT
Purchase your Zippies here or find a local retailer here.  The entire first series is $10 off at $39.99 and includes free shipping or purchase individually for $4.98 plus shipping.  If you have Amazon gift cards from SwagBucks to use, then purchase yours on Amazon.com for $6.00 + Shipping.

Spring Fling Giveaway Extravaganza: Lets get organized with Snapware review and early entry giveaway

I wish I could say this was my pantry

Organization is not my forte and being a Freebie Junkie doesn't quite help this effort.  Snapware comes to my rescue as they are a company specializing in storage and organization solutions for the home and kitchen under brands such as Snapware®, Snap 'N Stack®, Smart Store® and GlassLock®.

I had the pleasure of reviewing Snapware's wonderful cupcake carrier and Make a Gift Canisters last year and as part of my Spring Fling giveaway event which is being held next month (March 13th-19th), Snapware has kindly sent me some storage products to fit the "Lets Get Organized" theme prize package.

The Snap 'N Stack products are so versatile, they can be used all around the house for keeping small items together.  I initially envisioned using the medium 2 layer Snap 'N Stack with 6 sectional divider for storing the kids small art supplies or organizing my packets of seasonings.  However, organization of my daughter's hair accessories took precedence as my little girl loves putting her hair up and there is nothing worse than having to sift through a pile of accessories to match hair clips.  Plus she is the queen of headbands so I need a storage solution that could hold her ever growing collection of headbands.  The Snap 'N Stack is the perfect solution and I can easily add on to make this a 3 or more layer storage solution as her collection continues to grow.

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and I definetely need help with storage solutions for the food that I cook.  At the weekend I try to make a lot of different meals with the same ingredients for the week.  Storage containers are important to me as they are required to hold my dishes either in the fridge or freezer and hold up well in the microwave or dishwasher.  Snapware's 14 piece airtight food storage container set fits this requirement perfectly.   I love the snap sides which makes the product airtight and no more spilled food or soup in my lunch bag.  Now I'm never going back....
Snapware's products are BPA free and made in the USA!  How refreshing!

BUY IT

This Spring throw out your old, discolored, misshapen and broken tupperware or storage containers and purchase Snapware's storage and organization products here, prices start from $2.99.  My local Target store carries Snapware, check this list of stores for your nearest retailer.

WIN IT
Thanks to Snapware a Freebie Junkie reader will win the Snap 'N Stack Medium Storage container and the 14 piece airtight food storage container set.  All you have to do for a shot at winning is come back here March 13th-19th, during the Spring Fling Giveaway Extravaganza and enter, so MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Review: Royal Engagement Ring Replica from The U.K. Gift Company

Every girls dream is to marry a Prince and this April 29th, Kate Middleton will be the envy of every girl around the world as she marries her Prince Charming (Prince William).

Do you see that beautiful engagement ring on her finger?
The engagement ring given to Kate was the 18 carat sapphire engagement ring of Diana, Princess of Wales.  Its beautiful and fitting that Prince William chose to give Kate his Mother's engagment ring.  I grew up in England, and Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding was a huge affair and I'm sure this will be a bigger ado especially now with social media.  I will be tuning in to see the wedding on TV (I think my invite got lost in the mail) and I'm sure England is all a buzz right now.  I miss the English tabloids but thank goodness for online newspapers.

I'm a sucker for commemorative souvenirs especially those coming from England and the UK Gift Company has a variety of royal wedding gifts for everyone's taste.

You can own a replica of the engagment ring here.  I received one for review and holy moly its a good sized ring - no I'm not jealous ; ) Miss Kate Middleton is a lucky girl.

BUY IT
Purchase your royal commemoratives at The UK Gift Company and bring a piece of the English heritage to your home.

Review & Giveaway - Dine on the cutting edge with Knork

What do you get when you cross and fork and knife?

When I first saw Knork online I was wondering why spend the money on new flatware when I have perfectly good knife and fork set at home?
After I received the 20 piece set for 4 in matte finish for review, it all made sense.

The Knork is a fork that works as well as a knife! The Knork is designed with a curved double edge instead of a flat edge like a normal fork.  I usually don't put out knives at our dinner table as we have two young ones who love to touch everything, so a knork is a safe option for everyone.  Plus I'd feel comfortable with the kids using the knork because the curved double edge is not that sharp that the kids can
hurt themselves.  I love the minimalistic design, not only is the Knork practical for our family needs but also fits in with our everyday dishware and also our fancy dishware.

Where was this set when I was planning my wedding registry?

I love how Knork features come in plastic too.

BUY IT
This spring, dine on the cutting edge and upgrade your flatware with Knork products here.  Sample a salad Knork for only $4 including shipping or a single knork for $7 plus shipping.  Or go with a 20 piece set starting at $85.

Review & Giveaway: Upgrade your parties with Chalk Talk Glasses

At parties I'm always losing my drink, for plastic cups I simply write my name on the cup with a sharpie but with glassware this doesn't work so well.  For stemware a simple wine charm can be attached, but I always wonder half way through the party after a few drinks which charm was mine?  Chalk Talk Glass has come up with the perfect solution for this quandry.
With Chalk Talk Glasses you don't need wine charms to keep glasses from getting mixed up - guests simply write their name on their glass with chalk. At the end of the party simply wipe off the chalk, wash the glasses (top rack in your dishwasher or by hand) and you're ready for the next party!

As part of my Spring Fling giveaway event which is being held next month (March 13th-19th), Chalk Talk Glass has kindly sent me a Pint Glass for review and offered a $25 Gift Certificate giveaway to fit the "Out with the Old, In with the New" theme prize package.

Chalk Talk Glasses contain a small rectangle of chalkboard paint applied to each glass with a thin silver border around it.  They sell both wine glasses and pint glasses in a variety of designs.  I chose the pint glass for review and this is perfect for the guys when they play darts in the basement and have a chalk piece handy.  My husband thought the pint glass was cool and gave it a thumbs up.

I like the embellished wine glasses, there are a few designs to choose from such as heart and shamrock design.  These would make great conversation starters at my next party.

This spring, bring some fun to your parties and upgrade your stemware or barware by purchasing your Chalk Talk Glass products here.  Prices start at $25.00 for a pair plus shipping.  These would make great host gifts and a well sought after gift for the hard to buy men in your life.

Out with the Old, In with the New: Lets Get Clean & Green with Dapple Review & Giveaway

With two little ones at home and regular playdates, I'm always on the lookout for natural cleaners.  My glass kitchen table needs regular daily cleaning from food encrusted finger prints and the toys require a good clean before and after playdates so I try to limit the amount of chemical based cleaners on these high traffic areas.  Water usually doesn't cut it, so natural based cleaners such as Dapple is the perfect solution for our family cleaning needs.

Dapple makes natural baby products to help with everyday clean-up around the house.  Dapple was created by two mom's.  When they first became moms, they found a market full of “baby-friendly” products – from gentle laundry detergent for babies’ clothes, to mild shampoo for babies’ hair.  But there was nothing specific for the very items that our babies put into their mouths each day – their baby bottles, cups, and dishes.   It became their mission to find a better way.  Today, Dapple offers a full line of cleaners tailor-made for households with young children, including organic baby products such as Dapple Dish Liquid and Dapple Dishwasher Powder, and the just-introduced Dapple Toy Cleaner, now available in spray and wipes.

As part of my Spring Fling giveaway event which is being held next month (March 13th-19th), Dapple has kindly sent me a Dapple Clean Up Kit for review and offered one for a giveaway to fit the "Out with the Old, In with the New" theme prize package.

Dapple Clean Up Kit is a perfect introduction to the Dapple line and includes four of Dapple's most popular products: Dapple Baby Bottle & Dish Liquid, Toy & Surface Cleaner Spray, Toy & Surface Cleaner Wipes and Travel Pack, plus a free cleaning cloth.  I just love the idea that there is a toy and surface cleaner spray that not only use natural-based ingredients that are environmentally-safe but are free of parabens, SLES, and phthalates, as well as synthetic dyes or fragrances.  Now I can just spray or wipe down my kids vast number of toys with ease and a peace of mind that my children are safe from chemicals.  While the Dapple Toy Cleaner Spray are not antibacterial, it works like a thorough wash with soap and water – so baby can build up a strong immune system while enjoying clean surroundings.

Out with the Old, In with the New: Microwave PastaBoat Review & Giveaway

I am always looking for new products for the kitchen to help me be a better and efficient cook.  I love cooking, but with a full time job inside and outside of the home plus blogging time, it doesn't leave much time for eating let alone cooking.  During the work week I limit my cooking time to 30 minutes max to ensure I leave enough time to spend time with the kids and get everyone ready for the next day.  During the holidays when we're cooking for friends and family I wish for an extra 2 burners so all my dishes can come off the stove at the same time.  The PastaBoat fits all my cooking needs and then some.

The microwave PastaBoat is a five-in-one meal-maker that cooks, strains, serves, steams, and stores. Just add pasta and water into the Pasta Boat, place it in the microwave, pop on the straining lid after it cooks, and within 18 minutes the meal is ready to serve and eat.

As part of my Spring Fling giveaway event which is being held next month (March 13th-19th), PastaBoat has kindly sent me one for review and offered one for a giveaway to fit the "Out with the Old, In with the New" theme prize package.
I first tried the PastaBoat to make a pasta salad. I found that its best to use hot tap water to reduce cooking time, every microwave oven is different so the actual cook time will vary and you'll have to experiment the first few times before getting a system down. I loved how I didn't need to pull out my colander as there is an inbuilt straining lid, plus I could just add my salad ingredients to the PastaBoat and mix then serve.  The blind test with the family was a success as there were no complaints or differences noticed with the pasta cooked with the PastaBoat. Anytime I can get away with less clean up is good for me. The PastaBoat is perfect for steaming vegetables and fish in the microwave too.

BUY IT

This spring, donate your old kitchen items and upgrade with the new and innovative PastaBoat here to get the most out of your kitchen time.  Right now, there is an awesome deal to purchase the PastaBoat for $10 plus $6.99 shipping.  If you want a second one plus a bonus Chopper and cookbook to gift to a friend or family only pay $6.99 - purchase yours here

Lets Do Lunch - EasyLunchBoxes Review & Giveaway

I bring my lunches to work, not only is this frugal, but can really support a healthy and green lifestyle as well.  I have tried all kinds of tupperware solutions for my work lunches and I've given up on the cheap disposable kinds as they do not last long after multiple microwave and dishwasher cycles.  Plus, my lunches consist of the night before dinner and I end taking several containers to keep my lunch from ending up as a jumbled mess.  Get a helping hand with your New Year New Me with Easy Lunch Boxes innovative products for your on the go lifestyle.

Last year, we received a set of 4 lunch boxes ($13.95) and a cooler bag in red ($7.95) for review. I love how the lunch boxes have 3 separate compartments - just like one of those bento lunch box that you see in the Japanese restaurants, a compartment for your sandwich, snack and fruit. This enables me to pack a healthy lunch all in one container - no more ziploc bags. I also love how the lunch box lays horizontal in the lunch bag, don't you hate when you find a big jumbled mess in those vertical cooler bags. The cooler bag is big enough to add an ice pack, a drink and another snack. I try to plan my meals ahead of time so now with 4 lunch boxes I can plan my work lunches at the beginning of the week. The set is so versatile that my husband uses it for his work lunches too.  Also we've packed 3 lunchboxes in one cooler and used these for yummy lunches and snack for family trips to the beach and park.

EasyLunchboxes has a fun new web series called "Let's Do Lunch!"
Check out the "Lets Do Lunch" with Kelly's first celebrity guest - with Barry Williams (aka 'Greg Brady') of The Brady Bunch is Kelly's first celebrity guest :) The video below is amazing as Kelly and William sings, dances, and of course, packs lunch!

Review & Giveaway: Spring Gardening with Plow & Hearth

My parents have always kept an organic garden, as children we were enlisted to water the plants while they were at work.  For us it was a chore and we were not appreciative of the health and cost saving benefits that comes from growing your own food.  But as adults we all get that 'aha' moment where we look back and realize "Mom and Dad" were right.

I grew my own tomatoes and cucumbers a few years ago but only last year did I fully appreciate my garden.  You can read up here in my "How Does Your Garden Grow" articles about my wonderful yields.

This spring, get out into your garden and start planning your organic garden with Plow & Hearth.  We took the quickest and easiest route and built a raised bed garden last year.  If you are interested in organic gardening, all you need is a raised bed kit or raised bed corners and non-treated wood plus rich soil, compost, manure and seeds.  We love Burpee seeds because of the good quality plants and vegetables that result.

As part of my Spring Fling giveaway event which is being held next month (March 13th-19th), Plow & Hearth has kindly sent me a few garden products for review and offered a $50 Gift Certificate giveaway to fit the "Out with the Old, In with the New" theme prize package.

I chose the natural cedar wooden pathway for review as the organic garden area can get a little muddy from the water run off.  This pathway now offers an easy to use walkway and I will be able to harvest my vegetables without getting all muddy.  I also have visions of using this pathway in a Japanese garden theme.

I love making my garden my own with small ornaments.  The ladybug and turtle ornaments not only serve as hidden treasures but doubles up to hide my shed keys.
