Free El Paso Taco Seasoning

Photobucket

I just checked coupons.com and lo and behold the 50c/1 Taco seasoning coupon is back again (under zip code 90210) - yahoo. This means free Taco seasoning if your store doubles coupons like mine!  I finally found the cheesey Taco seasoning at my Genuardis - Giants PA doesn't carry it so its always nice to try different varieties during Taco dinner night.
Print out other coupons while you are there as you never know when a food deal will come up.

Updates on my deals this week

I received my Groupon Deal via Soap.com today!  How quick was that - I ordered the Groupon on  Wednesday the ecertificate was avaialble on Thursday and I get the package by Fedex today!   I was impressed that Soap.com packed the toilet paper with green packing peanuts.  They are made with organic products such as corn and will dissolve in water in 10 minutes.

With all the freebie deals I'm starting to think about all the extra gas and processes involved in shipping free products and coupons and so I'm happy when I see a company that has put some effort into thinking green.

Photobucket

I'm pretty excited in receiving my free salad server set from the One Kings Lane deal.  While the free salad server shipped for free is not available anymore the $15 credit is still available here and you can still get a lot of items for free - just pay the $7.95 shipping cost.  Bamboo is a sustainable product -so perfect in my book.

Here are some great Christmas presents that will be free (+ shipping)

$5 Bonus at Old Navy Yesterday

I ended up going to Old Navy yesterday instead of the mall as I had a 40% off coupon that was going to expire today and a $10 Reward coupon to use up.  I brought my daughter a cute brown jacket for the fall for $10 after my $10 reward coupon.  With the 40% off coupon I brought a plain black long sleeve top for me and I scoured the clearance section and picked up some great t-shirts for 99 cents for the kids next summer(Clearance now includes an additional 50% off the clearance price).

So when I got home I found a $5 off coupon to be used on next purchase with my receipt.  Yahoo!  The only restriction was that it was to be used in store and for use with an Old Navy, Gap and BR card, no problem for me as I have an ON card.  But this means a free item for me in clearance ; )

I recommend getting an Old Navy, Gap or BR card if you are frequent shopper to these stores as I get reward points and frequently get sent coupons and $10 or $20 reward cards.

Plum District Deal - cute kids clothes for more than half off

Yesterday I posted about the more than half off deal for Diapers.com through Plum District - well today at Plum District they are offering a deal at Agoo Clothing Company where you can get a $30 certificate for $10.

So here's how to work the deal
Sign up for Plum District
New Sign ups get $5 to use on their purchase within 7 days
So the $30 certificate will cost you $5 - YAY

Next, wait for the certificate to come up in your account after Plum District purchase

Sign into Agoo Clothing and happy shopping
Photobucket
I like the Pink Puddle jacket for my daughter - great for fall and its waterproof too.
Regular price is $37.99 so minus the $30 certificate it will cost $7.99 plus the $5 to buy the $30 certificate will cost me only $12.99 plus shipping ($8)!  Thats a $25 saving - not a bad deal for cute but practical clothes.

Hubby surprised me yesterday

Photobucket

My Husband came home with these beautiful roses yesterday. He reminded me that we met 12 years yesterday and wanted to give me a rose for each year! oops I forgot, but we typically celebrate our wedding anniversary, my bad....

We were destined to be together and had a fateful meeting on a plane in San Francisco when I accidently sat in his seat and the rest is beautiful history.  Of course, if my daughter comes home in 20 years time telling me she met a guy on a plane who lives in another country I'm not sure how I'd react ; )

How did you meet your Husband?

Review/Giveaway: HandsClens Alcohol Free Foaming Sanitizer and Lotion

Photobucket

We love hosting playdates at our house, not only is it a way for the kids to have their friends over but its the Mommy's fun time too.  With the Fall here, the weather changes are wreaking havoc on the kids immune system.  Both my children have been in daycare since they were tiny and have strong immune systems compared to other kids but it doesn't mean my little ones do not get sick.  My daughter just passed on her cold to her brother and I'm sure it will make its way to us soon as they both haven't quite grasped the cover your mouth when you sneeze concept.

While hand sanitizers are not a substitute for washing your hands with soap and water, they are a great alternative when you can't get to a bathroom.  When we are out and about I carry an antibacterial lotion in my purse, I use this when we cannot reach the bathrooms.  But I'm not fond of them as many contain alcohol.  We all have sensitive dry skin and the alcohol dries our hands out.  Plus there is the risk of ingestion of alcohol if you use too much just before you eat - even a small dab of Purell on my hands feel like I've just bathed in alcohol.  So when Bio Shield Technologies approached me to review their HandClens Alcohol Free Foaming Sanitizer and Lotion I was intrigued.
Photobucket
I personally like foaming washes so the foaming sanitizer is a refreshing change to the sanitizers currently on the market.  I put the foaming sanitizer to work and one full pump felt like a lot of liquid after I rubbed my hands together but then it slowly disappeared leaving my hands dry and feeling soft with a fragrance - although I'm not a fan of smells on products but I could not smell alcohol on my hands so thumbs up.  For small kids I recommend a small push of the pump.  I can't believe how soft my hands feel - you have to try it to believe it.

BUY IT
An 8.0 oz HandClens Alcohol Free Foaming Sanitizer and Lotion costs $7.50 here

This is double the cost compared to Purell but if you factor in the non alcohol content and added bonus of having soft skin then I think its worth it.

There is a color and fragrance free HandClens so thats good to know and I particularly like the 1.7 oz size foaming pump which would be great for my purse.

One Stop Shop at CSN.com

Photobucket

I'm a big fan of online shopping, not only do you get ideas for your home with the beautifully laid out websites but you can shop and compare all within the comforts of your own home.  Our friends call our home decor "Pottery Barn style" and are amazed to find that we did not pay Pottery Barn prices.  I get my ideas from Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma and then scour the internet for alternatives at much lower prices.

CSN Stores has over 200 online stores where you can find everything from nesting tables to fantastic fitness equipment to cookware!
Photobucket
I personally love the site, there are beautiful pieces by great designers too.  I have been challenged by CSN to review a product within the $20 range shipped.  Some would say this is impossible but nope being the frugal mama check back soon and see what I have found for my home.  In the meantime check out CSN and see what you can find for less.

My half price Toilet paper deal

Photobucket

Here's my update on the half price toilet paper deal.  I'm in need of stocking up on my toilet paper stash so yesterday I posted about the Groupon Deal via Soap.com.  The Soap.com certificate came up in my Groupon account today and so this is what I brought just now:

I signed into ebates first to get some cashback - ebates said I'll get back between 1-5.5% - I'll update later how much I get back

Used the Groupon coupon code $20 (paid $10 via Groupon)
Could not stack with the 15% or 20% codes though ; (

Total paid incl. tax = $2.66 SHIPPED
Out of pocket = $12.66 SHIPPED

Not free but not bad - it probably costs just as much to ship such big packages! I haven't seen any toilet paper deals for a long time - my last deal was the Scotts Rite Aid deal but that stock has been depleted.  I'm sure now I've stocked up I'll find a deal.

Anyhoo - for those who did not get in on this, sign up to Groupon as there are so many deals to be had.  You can search all the different cities not just your own as many deals are for online stores and can be used by anyone.

For those who are interested in Soap.com they have a deal where you can get free shipping when you spend $25 plus try using this code to get 20% off YYWA7286.  Note you cannot stack this code with your Groupon code.  Maybe you can figure out a deal for the JnJ $10/$30 rebate for free items? : )

I would suggest signing up anyway as I had an old Groupon account that I forgot about signing up for under a different email account and I got an email the other day that they were giving me a code for $10 off my first Groupon purchase.  So in this account I'm getting completely free toiletries as I went in on the soap.com toiletries too - yay!!!

Photobucket

Update: you can trying using the referral code DANA8625 during checkout at Soap.com to get 20% off - again not sure if it will stack at checkout with the Groupon ecertificate but I'll let you know tommorow when I order my toilet paper ; )

Hip2save mentioned that Brooklyn's Groupon has a $20 gift certificate for Soap.com for $10 plus free shipping is included.  I'm sad to say my toilet paper stash has run dry and I have not seen any good deals so I brought the Soap.com Groupon and will get my toilet paper for half price and Free Ship!

To get in on this deal sign up for Groupon and search for Brooklyn as the city.  Buy the certificate for $10 and you will get the ecertificate in your account instantaneously (but you won't be able to use it till tommorow).  The best part is you can be super smart and stack the deal with ebates - currently ebates is offering 1-5.5% back when you log into Soap.com via ebates!  If you are a new customer of ebates you'll get $5 cashback too!  Oh my - I'm so in on this deal!  So after you get your Soap.com ecertificate sign into ebates and then go to Soap.com to get some cashback.

Soap.com has More than 25,000 products and upward of 900 brands make the site a one-stop resource so I'm sure you'll find something that never has a coupon or a deal to buy! plus shipping is free.

I found a code for 15% off first order: SOAPSPLASH (limited time) not sure if you can stack codes but worth the try.  Oh and I just figured you can stack this deal with the JnJ $10/$30 rebate deal to score $30 worth of product for $10 or $5 if you are new to ebates.  Oh my what are you waiting for.

Review/Giveaway: Yummy Dough

Photobucket
I'm always on the lookout for fun crafty projects for the kids.  I cleared out some cabinet space in my kitchen so the kids can store their arts and crafts and currently its jammed packed with crayons, coloring books, play doh and nick nacks and they are always rummaging in there for things to do at the kitchen table while I'm cooking.  One of their favorite past times is play doh.  They have all the gadgets that enable them to make shapes and icecream swirls, so when I was given the opportunity to review Yummy Dough it was a no brainer.  Yummy Dough is an edible play dough from PlaSmart Inc.

The Yummy Dough box came with 4 Yummy Dough Mix (Red, Yellow, Green & Blue), measuring device, modelling tool and a brochure with Tips and Tricks.

Photobucket

First we washed our hands throroughly aand also cleaned our work space too.  I made each dough by mixing the dough mix with 20mL of water using the measuring device.  My kids helped mix initially and I finished off the mixing to get the dough to a modelling clay consistency.  The kids eyes lit up when they saw that the white flour turned a different color when the water was added.

Then I let the kids create whatever they wanted
Photobucket

This is what they came up with (with my help): Pizzas, butterfly, microphones, flower, purple cookies, snails and snakes

Photobucket

The box had clear instructions and I loved how you can make other colors by mixing certain color together.  The kids loved making purple cookies and now know you can get purple by mixing red and blue together.

Photobucket

This picture above was taken after cooking.  The dough didn't rise so much like a cake but it did plump up a bit.  Since our dough pieces were thicker I let it bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
We tasted the baked dough and decided it tasted like a cross between a cookie and a cake - my kids came up with cookie cake.  It wasn't too sweet and the instructions stated you had to bake and eat the day it was made - well that wasn't a problem in our household ; )

Yummy Dough has kindly offered a freebie Junkie Reader their own Yummy Dough kit

First Day of Fall Today

Today is officially the first day of Fall.

Do you love my new blog header.  Madeline at The Shabby Vanity has designed some cool seasonal headers for me and I'm excited to pull out my Fall header today.

I love the Autumn season as I love that slight chill in the air which makes me want to snuggle up to a nice fire with marshmallow smores and warm toddy in hand.

Halloween and Thanksgiving are celebrated in our household and we all love football season and the baseball playoffs.
