Loopeez review and giveaway

My daughter is 4 going on 6.  She is a sponge and picks up everything her 6 year old brother does - good or bad : )  My son picked up tying his shoes very quickly last year, this was fueled by the desire to not be the kid who wears velcro at Kindergarten.  Lately, my son has been trying to teach my daughter how to tie her shoes and of course it wasn't working so well with the little one who has an impatient streak.
We were happy to give Loopeez (a shoe tying aid) a try.  We found that the Loopeez aids attach to laces easily and free up hands for easy tie and re-tie. They come in a variety of designs for the little boys and girls out there.  Loopeez teaches shoe tying in five easy to follow steps:

1. Start by crossing the laces over and pull tightly

2. Place Loopeez ShoeTying Aid on top of the twist
3. Push one shoelace through the hole to form a “loop” or “bunny ear” (careful not to pull all the way through)

 4. Repeat with the other lace * for traditional method pull the second lace straight through the hole (no loop)
5. Cross “Bunny Ears” over to complete the bow

Also check out how via a Youtube video below

I loved how the loopeez takes away the frustration with making the bunny ears.  With just a simple thread through the loopeez the bunny ears are premade and my daughter simply has to tie the bunny ears together.  Once she gets the hang of tying I can ease her into making the bunny ears herself.  Then we'll be a velcro free household ; )

Purchase your loopeez for only $5.95 plus shipping at the secure online store here.  You can also purchase the bi-color laces ($4 plus shipping) that make learning to tie shoes even easier.

If you have swagbucks you can purchase the girls Loopeez here

Zenni Optical: Why pay more when you can pay less

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zenni Optical for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Zenni Optical

Who pays $1,000 for a pair of glasses?  The editor of Time magazine Bill Saporito did ("Eyes on the Price", July 4, 2011).  A Time reader wrote in response:
"Hey Bill can you read this? Please tell me Editor Bill Saporito is receiving mental-health treatment, because he is insane for spending $1,000 on a single pair of glasses. I buy glasses from Zenni Optical, an online optical site.  its $20 for a complete set at my doorstep, shipping included. - Peter Minston, Winsted, Conn.

Bill Saporito responds "I am still extremely happy with my overpriced glasses"
For many of us $1,000 for anything is not in our budget let alone glasses. Every penny counts in this economy.  Zenni Optical offers glasses at such affordable prices, plus there are so many to choose from that there is simply one for everyone.  Plus with the Zenni Framefit option which allows you to download a picture of yourself and "try on" each pair of glasses, there simply is no reason to head to an actual store and pay for their overhead costs through your glasses.  You can order Zenni Optical in the comfort of your own home, just ensure you have a current prescription and measurements at hand.
310521 Memory Titanium Flat Top Half-Rim Frame (Same Appearance as Frame #8005)

Can you believe these are $15.95 + shipping and handling?  That's a whole lot of saving right there especially compared to Mr Bill Saporito's overpriced glasses.

Make life easier and more efficient while on the go #officiallatte

I get my caffeine from tea - every morning I grab myself a cup of tea at home and then I grab one at work too.  Even though tea is my first choice, during the summer there is nothing better than an iced latte.  Seattle's Best has come out with a can of  iced latte.  I've tried it and its pretty good, especially when you need that caffeine buzz in the summer and a hot tea or coffee doesn't quite cut it.  It’s low calorie at just 130 calories per can.
It’s cheaper than Starbucks - a premium latte for just $1.49 and a 4-pack is an even better deal, at just $4.99 (find printable coupon below), plus perfect for on the go when life gets crazy and you have no time for pitstops.  Stock up with your coupon and grab one on your way out of the door - don't forget the kids....

As a busy working Mom of two energetic sassy little children I have my little tricks to make my life easier and more efficient while on the go.

    1. Pick out the kids and my clothes the night before.  During summer, camp wear is easy - a bathing suit, camp shirt and socks.  For me its usually a dress as I hate being hot and sticky in pants.

    2.  The night before I also pack my bags and the kids camp gear.  I like to pack with a clear mind and not a rushed mind where I will tend to forget something.

    3. Plan my weekly dinner's on Saturday and grocery shop on Sunday when the sales start .  I write a grocery list based on what I want to cook.  I'd like to say I do all my cooking on Sunday and just reheat all week, but thats not me.  I just cook like Rachel Ray - 30 minutes meal.

    4. Hubby and I have a morning routine, he wakes first and takes a shower, I jump on the elliptical and once he's done I grab the kids put them in our bed with TV on and then I grab a shower while hubby dresses the kids.  I run down after shower and make our lunches and do a bit of quick blogging and then off we go - phew...

    5. There's no time for breakfast in the morning so I grab fun breakfast snacks for the kids and they eat them in the car e.g. gogurts, pop tarts, banana, fruit cups etc..  This enables everyone to sleep a little longer and be a little less grumpier.

    6.  I get a little kids education done in the car ride to camp by putting on preschool tapes - click here to win yourself a $10 Gift certificate for Twin Sister Products that encourage learning with music.  The kids love it and so do I.

    7. My morning drive to work is my time so this is when I get my best ideas or thoughts for the day.  Aided with caffeine I relish this time alone.

    8. Can't live without my iphone - its my social organizer, social media connector and gameboy for the kids.  I download a lot of age appropriate educational apps and the kids tinker on it on the ride home.  It keeps them busy and quiet after a long day at camp.

    9.  Stock up on items while on sale.  Stocking up when a good sale comes on is not only a good way to save money but its also a good way to save on time.  I spend less time searching the grocery store for each item.  There's nothing better than knowing you have enough deoderant for the rest of the year.

    10. I have many things on timers, e.g. alarm, sprinkler system, soaker hoses and coffee pot for hubby.  This way there's no way of forgetting.  Why stress when you can use modern technology.
    About Seattle’s Best Coffee
As coffee blenders and roasters since 1970, we’ve seen a lot come and go. We went from a tiny shop on the Seattle waterfront to being declared Seattle’s Best Coffee in a local competition. In 2003, we joined the Starbucks family which has allowed us to place more resources into further honing our special way of crafting delicious, impossibly smooth coffee. Every step of the process, from coffee cherry to your cup, is managed to fit our exacting standards and our premium approach to coffee. Now, we’re making it easier to find your perfect coffee with our new Level System.

Enter the Parent's Choice Infant Formula Savings Sweepstakes

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PBM Products for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

When my son was born I was fortunate to not have to pay for formula for the first 6 months of his life.  However, we after going back to work we switched my son from breastmilk to formula soon after 6 months and wow was that a sticker shock.  Between diapers and formula this baby was costing a small fortune.  However, as a new Mother everything had to be just right and that included buying new and only the best regardless of cost.  That soon changed with my daughter who came 21 months later.  With two in diapers something had to give.  But that doesn't necessarily have to involve compromising quality.  You have to use your street smarts and do your homework.

Did you know Wal-Mart has been providing many parents an infants Parent's Choice Infant Formula for 13 years? They want to help parents save money while providing a quality product for your growing infant.

Parent's Choice would like to give back to the community and help one student and one family with another milestone in your children's lives.  With the launch of the Parent’s Choice Infant Formula Savings Sweepstakes, created in partnership with PBM Products, LLC, a Perrigo Company, they will provide one very lucky winner with a $10,000 college scholarship in the form of a College Savings 529 Plan!  That's a huge help in the ever growing cost and burden that parents and students have to battle with for a better education.

The Parent’s Choice Infant Formula Sweepstakes was officially launched on June 15th, and will run through 11:59 p.m. on August 1, 2011.

Click here for more info, rules, regulations, and the entry form!

Parent’s Choice Infant formula is Walmart’s private brand formula and is available exclusively at Walmart locations nationwide and online at
