Free Calls to Japan, Text to Donate, and Free TV Japan

In light of the tragic natural disaster in Japan Verizon and AT&T have stepped up to offer free phone calls to Japan

According to AT&T's press release here, you can get free calls to Japan until end of March

Under the plan, AT&T wireless postpaid customers will not be charged for international long distance or text messages to Japan from the US and Puerto Rico. Likewise, residential wireline customers can seek credits for up to 60 minutes of direct dialing to Japan. Sure it's a shameless publicity grab but this one seems genuinely helpful.

According to Verizon's Press release here, Verizon is making all calls to Japan free for most residential and wireless customers through April 10.

 Plus Verizon is offering Free JapanTV until March 25th.  The channel location is 1770.
