Review: Prep & Landing Landed on DVD 11/22

The Holidays are exciting for everyone.  As a child my brother and I would wait anxiously for the TV guide to post in the national newspaper and then we'd circle all the Christmas movies.  It was such a fun time as back in England at that time we only had 4 channels, although you were limited by choice there was never any fighting over which channel to watch and there were no channel flicking.

Movies on DVD are now our staples for our family entertainment during the holidays as this brings on the nostalgia and sets the ambience for the wonders of Christmas.  We watched Disney’s Prep & Landing that came out on DVD November 22nd to start the Holiday season off!

Prep & Landing is an adorable holiday story about a high-tech team of elves who ensure homes around the world are properly prepared for their visit from Santa. After working for a tireless 227 years, an elf named Wayne (voiced by Dave Foley) is upset when he doesn’t receive an expected promotion. Instead he is partnered with an idealistic rookie elf named Lanny (voiced by Derek Richardson) to execute a special Christmas Eve mission. While on their journey, Wayne and Lanny encounter unexpected challenges that push them to their limits and ultimately threaten Christmas for children around the world. But in the end, these two elves work together to guide Santa through a raging snowstorm in order to save Christmas. You might remember Prep & Landing, which first debuted in 2009 as ABC TV’s first animated television special produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

My son recently asked how Santa could possibly make all those toys and deliver it to all the children around the world in one night.  This is a tough one to answer as he is only 6.  Luckily this was just out of curiousity and not a playground whisper.  The movie helped answer a lot of my son's questions much to my delight.  This movie has a great classic storyline with a twist and certainly a great addition to our Christmas movie list!

My kids have been bugging us to see this movie. I however don't remember ever watching this one, though that could be because I like to stick to the classics! I can't wait till Friday when we can start watching all the Christmas movies we have here while decorating!
