Costumes are a wonderful way for children to use their imaginations. My daughter has a pretty good collection of Princess dresses. It is just as well because between her and her friends princess birthday parties these dresses are pretty well worn. We are always on the lookout for more costumes because during playdates little arguments always break out on who wants to be Belle. So I throw in other non-princess dresses in her dress up chest to mix it up and it usually works wonders.
My son had a pirate party a few years ago and I couldn't find any cute Pirate costumes for my daughter. We ended up using a pirate t-shirt but a real costume would have been the icing on the cake. I found this really cute child pink Pirate costume on BuyPiratescostume.com.

I ordered the small size and it fit my 5 year old just perfectly. Its girly enough for my princess and now I just hope there are no fights over this costume at the next playdate! The dress was really well made and will definetely withstand the girls manhandling the costume when they all switch costumes. We will definetely put this dress to good use as my daughter has now found her halloween costume. I'm always trying to think of ways to reuse what we have and maybe this costume might inspire a girly pirate birthday party theme next year : )
