DINNER
I recently joined the 10 day Nutrisystem Blogger program, and was sent frozen food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack time from the Nutrisystem Select option for review. I posted about the breakfast and lunch yesterday and today I'll be focusing on dinner. I'm the cook during the working weeknight so I cook quick and simple meals like pasta with chicken, fajitas, Chinese stirfry's. My problem is portion control at dinner. I use a pasta bowl or regular sized plate and is full. This is done out of habit.
The dinner items that I received in my review package were Asian Style Beef, Roasted Turkey Medallions, Chicken Alfredo and Grilled Chicken Breast. My favorite Nutrisystem dinner item was the Asian Style Beef. Although at first glance when you take it out of the package to microwave you wonder will I feel full as it is daunting to see such a small meal spinning around the microwave. But when you actually pour it onto a plate you realize yes it does fill my plate (not too full) but enough to know it is the right sized portion. Presentation is everything, so try using smaller plates for dinner and maybe just from that method you'll see a difference over time.
This Asian Style Beef meal is only 300 calories and contains 5.0g of fat. So after 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) the total calories is 800 calories and 15g of fat. Of course, snacks need to be accounted for (eat less but more often) to bring the total calories to a more healthy number.
The frozen foods are available in select food plans - more information are provided here.
Tommorow, I'll review the frozen desserts provided.
Disclosure: Nutrisystem is providing their food and program to me free of charge in exchange for blogging about my experience as part of the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Program. These opinions are my own and others experiences with Nutrisystem may vary.
